Our Story

Our story

We are The Coach Brewing Co, we produce a range of small batch, hand crafted beers from our award winning brew-pub 'The Coach' in Bridgend, South Wales.
Our story began in 2006 with a part time bartending job at The Coach after it became Bridgend's first "non-smoking" pub. In 2010 we acquired the keys to The Coach and vowed to focus on good beer, good people and good times. From then, we won numerous awards (including 'Best Pub in Wales'), we opened a cocktail bar and another pub and we drank a LOT of pints.
By 2017, after many brew days at local breweries, we decided we wanted to brew our own permanent beer for the pubs. Following a fair amount of head scratching, we dived in at the deep end... ripped out the kitchen in The Coach, ordered a shiny new brew-kit, then knocked down some walls and installed it on full display for everyone to see.
In 2020 we started making Bont Gin and by 2023 we'd grown into supplying and operating 5 fabulous venues throughout South Wales.

the brewery

The brewery launched in September 2018, our brew kit is a bespoke 500L system built for us in Lancashire. We use both open top & pressurised conical FVs and we rack into cask, keg and occasionally package into cans too.

the beer

Our first two brews became our core beers; they were a British Pale Ale & a New England IPA. They were a hit at our pubs and before long we were receiving orders from far and wide. Within 12 months our beer had been poured all over the UK and we'd featured at the Great Welsh Beer Festival.

Highly Rated

We're thrilled to be rated in the top 5 breweries in the whole of Wales based on Untappd reviews.
But don't take their word for it, come and try a pint or two.

Sustainability

We're conscious about sustainability & recycling, our spent grain goes to local farmers and our used hops go to allotments. Learn more about our journey to Net Zero HERE.

Community

As a community focused business, we love getting our locals involved. We regularly use artwork from our friends (like the mega talented lolo Edger) for our beers.

Just enjoyed a pint of Selleck.
Was smooth with a punchy hoppy aftertaste, wish I had a moustache to drink it properly!

NEIPA is soft and really clean, lots of juicy tropical fruit upfront followed by fresh, juicy citrus, finish is hoppy with low bitterness citrus, really easy drinking, perfect on a summer day.
