Allow us to introduce ourselves, welcome to The Tusker Rock, Ogmore-by-Sea.

We're an independent micropub, serving up the best cask ale, craft keg, cider, wine & spirits from Wales, the UK & beyond... and as part of 'The Coach Brewing Co' family, you'll always find some of our own brews on tap.


We opened in December 2025 and we're very proud to have brought the first pub back to Ogmore-by-Sea in more than 20 years. We're all about a community mantra and good vibes to match the top tier sea view and world class sunsets on show daily (when Welsh weather permits).


We look forward to offering a warm welcome and cold pint, to one and all.

You'll also find we pour a cracking pint of Guinness too.

We don't serve food so if our selection of crisps & nuts aren't enough to soak up the beer, you're welcome to order in from our friends at Cobbles.

Our name, The Tusker Rock, pays homage to the notorious and treacherous island out in the Bristol Channel.

The rock is visible from our pub twice a day as the tide retreats. What's more, the building we're now custodians of even traded as "Tusker Café" in a previous life.
The rock is a true local landmark and coincidentally in 2017 we saw the two miles out to it, taking a Tusker Lager with us to enjoy a well-earned "Tusker on Tusker. The swim home was of course, a bit slower.

Thankfully, since opening the pub, there's now a far less strenuous way to enjoy a beer at The Tusker Rock!

  • What are your opening times?

    Just like our sister pubs The Coach 1 Town Hall Square and The Cross Inn, we’re open 7 days a week, 11:30am til 11pm.

  • Do you serve food?

    Unfortunately we don't have a kitchen, our focus is on award winning beers and drinks, with a sprinkling of crisps and nuts. But if you're peckish, feel free to order in from our pals at Cobbles.

  • Are you child friendly?

    We’re family friendly and under 18s are permitted until 9pm.

  • Do you serve coffee?

    Unfortunately we don’t have a coffee machine… But we do have a plethora of non-alcoholic drinks available, from traditional soft drinks through to 0.0% Guinness and non-alc beer.

    If coffee's your thing, then have no fear - The Welsh Coffee Co are our neighbours, directly opposite!

  • Are you dog friendly?

    Yes absolutely! Dogs are very welcome and we have treats and water for them, just ask.
